Closing Arguments

Welp, tomorrow is the big day.

Considering how many calories I've burned over the past several years stressing out about the presidency of George W. Bush, I thought about constructing some grand closing argument, sort of a culmination of everything I've read and written about Bush's supernaturally abysmal administration.

But I just don't have the strength. Hell, just trying to thoroughly summarize the issues surrounding the economy or the Iraq War alone would be enough to make my head explode, and that would just be scratching the surface.

I also thought it would be a good idea to point out why John Kerry really isn't just "Not Bush", but a guy truly worthy of admiration.

But I really don't feel like doing that, either.

Instead, I think I just want to send out a personal "thank you" to the Bush Administration...

I want to thank you for sucking so bad that you simultaneously woke up and unified the left in this country. Society seems to evolve on a giant pendulum, with every swing into insanity like a horrible car wreck that we just couldn't live without before getting off our asses and building the guardrail on that deadly curve. You have pushed us so far to the right and revealed so much of the darkest recesses of the conservative ideology, no matter who wins tomorrow the re-energized left is now wide-awake and set to push the pendulum back hard.

And that's when great things happen.
